That’s it, here we are. After several months of work, Godmorgon: Spooky Ride is online, downloadable by everyone on Itch.io! The whole team is proud to present this version, and we look forward to receiving your feedback! And you can also see the official Key Art and logo on the cover of this article, created by Sarah Sigier, an artist who has agreed to help us with this task.
As you may have read in the devlogs we wrote during production, we encountered a lot of pitfalls along the way, such as the availability of graphics resources or the redesign of the game code to move from 2D to 3D. So we couldn’t do the multiple levels we wanted, nor the procedural generation because we wanted to focus on the final quality of the game and the diversity of the cards.
In this version of Godmorgon: Spooky Ride, you can play one level, and build your hand with no less than 55 different cards! During your visit to this cursed attraction, you can fight up to 5 different types of enemies, and 4 types of rooms. Will you dare to venture there and challenge the Ringmaster?
Currently, the game is available on its itch.io page. There you will find screenshots of the game, a detailed description and will be able to download it. And if you want to discover more details about the work of each of the team members, you will also be able to access the credits and their professional pages and portfolios. The game trailer will be available in the coming weeks!
Feel free to leave us a comment if you have played the game, or let us know what you think about our Discord !
As you read it in the previous devlogs, the game was planned to be launched on Steam, then it was finally cancelled due to some setbacks regarding the setup of our school’s developer account. Well, the whole team is happy to announce that these issues have finally been resolved. Godmorgon: Spooky Ride will finally be available on Steam in January or February 2021!
We look forward to offering it to you on this platform! The version will be the same as the one available on Itch.io, because the development team will start their internships, and therefore will unfortunately not be able to work on it in the next few months. But don’t worry, we’ll put it in a back corner, if one day we have the opportunity to work on it again to offer you new levels!
Until then, fasten your seatbelts, keep your arms in your wagon, and don’t try to get out of the attraction on the way… !
